Kifaya

I remember posting this after the first elections in Iraq.  I think it is as relavent now as it was then.  Time will be the judge with "W".  I don't believe history will look harshly on his foriegn policy.

Change. Or Kifaya, in Arabic. We are the witness to history right before our eyes. Time magazine called President Bush "American Revolutionary" when they named him Person of the Year. Revolutionary he may be, but it seems more like they should of said Visionary... Even the Left and the foriegn press are coming along; albiet kicking and screaming.

"Events in Lebanon are moving in a very important direction." Condoleeza Rice, Secretary of State

"He's gonna be a great--pretty soon, Republicans are gonna be like, "Reagan was nothing compared to this guy." Like, my kid's gonna go to a high school named after him, I just know it." Jon Stewart

"Well, I think, you know, as a Democrat, you don't want anything nice to happen to the Republicans, and you don't want them to have progress. But as an American, you hope good things would happen." Nancy Soderberg, former Clinton aide to Jon Stewart

"For the first time in three decades, Lebanon now seems within reach of regaining its independence." Daniel Pipes, Middle East expert

"The dramatic events unfolding at present in Lebanon that offer the real prospect of people power triumphing in a Middle Eastern state." Richard Beeston, Diplomatic Editor for the Times

"It is a democratic electric shock,” Karam Gabr, the managing editor of Rose el-Yousef

"Virtually no one in Washington expected such a snowballing of events following Iraq's elections." Jackson Diehl, The Washington Post
